Bring Canned Food
Donations to the Parade!
Make this St. Patrick's Day Parade
special by bringing a donation
of one or more cans of food.
When you, your friends, your kids, your parents...even your
dog, come to the Parade, be
sure each of you bring at least one can of food.
If the canned food is low sodium, or sugar or fat
– then all the better! You can bring the
food from your own pantry or buy it at your local grocery
store. Here's why...
We know that even as we all enjoy the 1st ever St.
Patrick's Day Parade of Central Texas, what
with the floats, giant helium balloons, marching bands,
and more -- there will be other Central Texas citizens who
are unable to meet their most basic need for food.
That's why we are asking each and every Parade attendee
(that means you and me and thousands of our new best friends!)
to bring at least one can
of food to the Parade. You will be able
to donate your canned good during the Parade to volunteers
who will place your donation into specially designed vehicles
that will be in the Parade.
Working together, this one small gesture by each of us will
make a huge difference in the lives of our fellow Central
Texans. The canned food you donate will be donated by the
Grow The People Foundation directly to
non-profit organizations that serve the needy.
Remember, try to select canned food that is healthy ---
low or no sodium, sugar, fat. Many of the folks we will
help are ill, elderly and on restricted diets. Your concern
in this area will alllow us to improve the quality of life
for so many.
Thank you.
